Swedish Metal Masters SOILWORK Return To Vancouver for one night only. The tour and new album 'The Panic Broadcast' features the return of founding member Peter Wichers. Also on the bill, legendary Bay Area Thrash Icons DEATH ANGEL team up to make this an incredible night of pure, molten metal!
There are few artists that need no introduction, but Sweden's SOILWORK are definitely one of them. Their reputation as one of the country's finest exports (aside from mustaches, Swedish fish and porn) is well-deserved. Few bands have melded the aggressiveness of metal with genuinely catchy choruses to such impressive results. Before you start name-dropping the latest metalcore sensation, let's just get one thing straight: SOILWORK did it first, and better!
SOILWORK’S upcoming new album is due in Europe on June 25 via Nuclear Blast Records, The Panic Broadcast is being produced by guitarist Peter Wichers and mixed by Jens Bogren (OPETH, KATATONIA, PARADISE LOST, BLOODBATH).
SOILWORK’S new album will be the first to feature Wichers since his return to the band in 2008 as well as the studio debut with Coudret, who also joined in 2008. The drums for The Panic Broadcast were recorded at Echo Mountain in Asheville, North Carolina while the rest of the recording is set to take place in Tampa, Florida and the mix at FascinationStreet in Orebro Sweden. Strid previously stated about The Panic Broadcast, "If any of you missed some of the intricate riffing that makes SOILWORK so unique, you won't be disappointed. I find these songs very playful and because we're not cutting down on anything — no 'too much information,' no 'less is more' — they're just pure musical joy with no boundaries. And THAT, to me, is what this band is all about! Of course, there'll be some surprises as always, and giving every one of us the freedom to go apeshit will without a doubt yield a heavy-as-fuck and naturally catchy album."
SOILWORK has also issued a studio blog and sessions can be viewed on the band’s YouTube channel.

Says July 2nd in the header... just pointing out that it's 26 days off
Blame the booking agent for CM/NB he throws them on every tour. That's what happens when u win a battle of the bands and get signed with them, they whore you out to every tour and you gotta work your ass off to pay for your end of the contract. You get shit pay, a 20 minute set and $10/day for food. Your only hope of breaking even is to have decent merch (which you pay for, not the label). So bands like them and others (we've discussed this elsewhere) do three or four road trips a year whether they are liked or not.

Ain't metal grand?
Metal? More like business. But of course at that point the music in inseparable from business.
Really? Because Patrick says he is in Vancouver already. Edit: Pat says two of the members didn't make it across the border due to line up changes/border issues. SO I`m guessing he's just up for the ride and selling merch.
Well Swashbuckle seemed to improve from the lastime I saw them, Mutiny Within were just as terrible as lastime though. DEATH ANGEL stole the show as exspected and def need to comeback a third time for a headlining show. I left after DA was finished their set.
