Alright so we are really excited to confirm that Reaver will be opening the Victoria show for the Coronary Evidence Tour with Aborted, Augury and System Divide. The show will be at V-Lounge with music starting around 9. I'm sure I'll have a poster for it somewhat soon.

I think any reviews will do as long as they aren't just a couple of words and it is thought out. If you ever feel like it, just send it to me through the PM or facebook.

Post Re: Reaver (Victoria)
Yeah man, I was pretty happy with that review.

Here is a review I found of our old unmastered 3 song demo. I can assure everyone the CD's sound quality is a vast improvement but I really like some of the things Austin (from the Metal Observer) said in this review:

Although the production quality of REAVER’s self-titled debut was not exactly up to par at times, the vocal style brought a different element to the release that I enjoyed. The vocals were clear and intelligible, while still being firmly rooted in the Death Metal style. Oftentimes, on unsigned releases, the vocals suck so bad that I can’t concentrate on the whole picture. REAVER should not have to worry about replacing their vocalist!

The production could have been better. On the first track, for instance, the drums and/or guitars were so low in the mix that it was difficult to distinguish them. I understand that REAVER is an unsigned band; therefore, this is a pretty easy factor to overlook when reviewing their disc. The varied structures of "Duality Exposed" would have been cool enough without the awesome, sweep-picking solo that rips on this track. Coolness overload! I personally listen to bands that often switch tempos or riffs within the same song. I really appreciated the fact that REAVER has created longish songs that do not grow stale from boredom. REAVER cites bands like AT THE GATES and IN FLAMES as influences. Even a caveman could hear the heavy Göteborg influence that is present throughout this disc (which is unfortunately too short!). REAVER seems to be more melodic to my ears, which in my opinion is a positive thing.

REAVER is a diamond in the rough. Looking in hindsight at my favorite bands, I realize that their early discs were not the best. REAVER’s debut is far more enjoyable than those aforementioned releases. I see potential with REAVER.

Austin
