Post Re: Reaver (Victoria)
Hey folks,

Reaver is on the knuckletracks player over at Brave Words Bloody Knuckles. Front page too :)

http://www.bravewords.com/home#

Also, anyone know any Italian? I found a review for our CD from Italy and I can't make heads from tails on it.

Here it is haha

Post Re: Reaver (Victoria)
Translation of above is:

In business since 2008 and then birth young, training the Reaver releases its debut album "Corvus".
Canadians are proponents of a melodic death metal multifaceted that fishing in ages past, but not without such right to look also to this.
It 'a record that has made in Sweden in its supporting base, you earn several times the influence of In Flames and Dark Tranquillity as well as that of the Finns Insominium names and there will be others listening to the platter.
Strongly addicted heavy, sometimes not afraid to take out the skeleton with Maiden guitar licks worthy of Harris & Co. and focus on the groove when you feel the need.

An album that is at work of its six strings to rely, are in fact the guitar riff to baste a varied and peppered with songs that see the features intersect or overlap creating classic pieces from the smell but at the same time feature a modern look , there is already such as the opener "God Weapon" where the end is also a short driving rhythmic style that will lead to a hardening of the part in shutdown.
With a "Disappearing Act" for more points Points are and members both during "The Mind's I" in the next "Damage Done", the melancholy expressed through notes sweet but not sugary doing his duty, the track sees reached its peak when let off steam in the absolute.
The rhythmic hitherto almost never supported more stretched in order to travel on to face listening to an emotional point of view from that of pure and primary battle that will happen so that the introspective instrumental "Wither and Fade" and continue on the path although this path with a minimum of vehemently re-emerging "Barricade" in which the pressure becomes more prominent and s'incattivisce.

I had the strange feeling at times that you have two disks on air simultaneously but with different periods, I mean, the riff reminds me on several occasions to the nineties, marked by frequent basis instead of (mainly cash) to the groove and not dynamically different as they may seem in certain situations if there was screeching like an amalgam between the components, this momentary perception has gradually weakened but not completely disappeared after repeated on air.

It is not the desire to get away without too many turns of phrase in "The Mute Harbinger" afforded a bit 'by Soilwork developments catchy, chorus by singing and quite linear structure with the only blemish in that repeated several times during the chorus may bore, reverse the spirit of "inverted comma" very insightful notes entry but, in pursuing dampen the tone by bringing them to trace what has been proposed antecedence leaving the last cry, the title track, which as a body with two cores show of adrenaline have to be repaid on the listener and at the same time shows a semblance of reflexivity through times when it seems largely take their distance from extreme views.

Strong overall performance of a good standard with the singer Brandon Reynolds remembers that sometimes devilish Randy Blithe Lamb Of God and not let go, the Reaver can offer interesting hints like when you stand the noise, the short but pleasant listings plan, the additive used in a consistent and heavy melodies that try to go to streets not too practiced, where these points bring home the full result in the future.

By the way, the melodic is saturated and is quite complicated carve out a space for their part the Reaver are fortunate enough to be slightly outside the canonical execution is neither from catchy pop charts, nor sputtanatamente a clone but also capable of draw from multiple sources.
So I think the advice on air to "Corvus" to fans of the genre in its entirety, whether in the future were able to trigger even a small change can make them even more to distinguish the mass from a promise we would find a more solid reality to entrust our money at the time of purchase, which is no small thing.

I just put up "Unholy Justice", what most would consider to be our most straight forward metal song, up on reverbnation. You can listen to it at:

This is the song we close most of our sets with and I've seen many people get bloodied in the pit to this one.

I thought I'd post my favorite tour photos. Our singer could not fit with the rest of us on the Rollercoaster at West Ed. Note how thrilled he looks.

Forgot to post this a while back but some of you may get a kick out of it. This is a video of us covering Monochromatic Stains by Dark Tranquility at our CD release show with Brittney (Unleash the Archers) and Mitch (For Your Liberation) lending a hand to put our own stamp on it. I dare say it went pretty fucking well...

Here is a great review from Heather at Adrenalin Metal union

REAVER - "Corvus"
Style: Melodic Death Metal
Origin: Canada
Heather's Review: From the time I put this cd in, till it was over, I was thoroughly impressed. All the songs on this cd were captivating. From songs that build and grow, to a pure melodic instrumental interlude, to brutal songs with screaming vocals, this band has everything and more to be a success. With majors fluctuations in mood backed up by a group of extremely talented musicians,
I would recommend this band to every metalhead on the planet. And not only is this band talented in music, but they have artistic taste as well. The cd cover, drawn by artist Julie Dillon) is one of the best I have seen. Check this band out. If you don't, you will be sorry! For more info, check them out at www.reaver.ca

Production: 10/10 Vocals: 9/10 Originality: 10/10
Overall: 10/10 S

Well, we are officially one member down. Our other guitar player left to pursue a life of styling hair... We're grounded until we can find a replacement. If you know anyone who is serious about music, be sure to send them our way...
